All of the light horse breeds have some Arabian in them. They're probably the only breed that started off on this planet and yet they breed them in designer ways.Rising Rainbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04239592070775412669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7066406656636867489.post-31035796301255767532011-05-16T13:32:57.742-08:002011-05-16T13:32:57.742-08:00I can't keep up with all the crosses now days ...I can't keep up with all the crosses now days but I do know a warmblood is a cross. People are still breeding TB with draft horses, that is the kind I saw in NYC that the police officer was riding. Nick is a cross bred, half TB and half Welsh pony but looks like a TB that was left in the dryer a bit too long! ha!Midlife Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03531655128417397650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7066406656636867489.post-87351590336058999912011-05-13T11:26:12.276-08:002011-05-13T11:26:12.276-08:00I remember when warmbloods first started getting t...I remember when warmbloods first started getting talked about, and at that time, they were a cross between a hotblood and a coldblood. People were breeding TBs with draft horses.

Then, the European horses showed up, and they became the definition of warmblood.

Morisiens are like taking a hotblood and breeding with a warmblood. Does that make a warmer warmblood or a cooler hotblood?

I have Morabs--a hotblood crossed with a hotblood gives you another hotblood. That is why Cruiser, nearly 24 years old, still acts like he did 20 years ago--and I wouldn't want it any other way.

(Morabs are nothing new. Arabian blood was introduced into the Morgan breed long ago because it was such a pretty cross.)Judihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01696430372464786833noreply@blogger.com
